Rated as a Class-2 e-bike in Ontario, the '64 does not require a licence or insurance to ride in Ontario. For other provinces, please see the Light Motorcycle, as the e-bike is now an Ontario-exclusive product.

Licence, Registration, And Insurance Required

Classified as a Limited Speed Motorcycle (LSM), the '64 requires a valid driver's licence, registration, and insurance to ride on public roads in all Canadian provinces. Check with your local motor vehicle office for specific requirements in your area.

"One of these beautiful bikes rode past me while I was walking my dog so naturally I ran after the guy, stopped him, and asked about a million questions. Within a couple of weeks my very own Beachman arrived!

Buying a Beachman was such a great gift to myself. I needed to find a way to get outside and see the world and zen out... that's what the Beachman is, a joy engine on two wheels.

The great thing is I can also have my girlfriend on the back and we enjoy seeing the city. The price was great, and with a distance of 70 KM on a full charge, there is nowhere I can't go in the city.

I have been nothing but impressed with this bike. It rides great, it's easy to use for someone new to riding, and the range and speed are more than adequate for living in the city. I look forward to riding it every single day.

Love the look and the ride. I picked up and added a couple of side reflectors and mirrors. I get asked about it almost every time I’m out for a ride. It’s pretty unique in Ottawa.

FAQs

Yes! The '64 E-Bike is classified as a class 2 Electric Bicycle, with a top on-road speed of 32 km/h. This model can be ridden on both roads and painted bike lanes due to its classification.

Yes. The '64 Light Motorcycle is classified as a Limited Speed Motorcycle (LSM), with a top speed of 70 km/h. It is road legal and rides on the road like any other motorcycle; LSMs can't use bike lanes, sidewalks or bike paths.

You DO NOT need a motorcycle licence to ride a class 2 E-Bike.

You need a valid driver's licence: a full-privilege driver's licence, or in some provinces a motorcycle licence. The '64 Light Motorcycle must also be registered and insured, and you must wear a DOT or ECE-approved helmet. Check with your provincial motor vehicle office for the rules where you ride.
