Great Commuter, Great Joyrider

I received my Beachman '64 LSM in late August and have been riding it consistently since then, both as a commuter and for fun. It's great as a "get on and go" bike. No time to warm the engine, no concern about fuel or oil. The bike is comfortable, even as a taller human (I'm about 6'2"), well balanced, and handles great. It accelerates quickly enough to not feel threatened by traffic, and it has more than enough range to get to and from work daily with an overnight charge. For reference, I live in Victoria, and I'm confident the bike could get from the southern tip of the Saanich peninsula all the way to Swartz Bay and still have a charge left over to get at lest half-way back. So far the only caveat I've found is somewhat slow acceleration from stopped on a steep hill. The bike does get going, just slower than on level ground.

I ordered saddle bags with mine, and I'm glad I did. They're roomy, secure, and really tie together the look of the bike. Like others have said, the '64 will attract polite attention. While sorting out insurance three people has compliments and questions about the bike, and since then I've lost count of how many folks have asked me about it at stop lights, in parking lots, or even as I pull in to my driveway.

I recommend this bike to anyone who likes cafe racer style and wants a commuter bike, or something fun to ride on weekends.

Amazing bike, great service

The LSM looks absolutely incredible and is comfortable to ride. It’s perfect for cruising around the city and I cannot wait for summer. It definitely turns heads.

The Beachman team has also been really helpful at sorting out insurance - since it’s so new, insurance brokers and ICBC in British Columbia had lots of questions and Beachman was always quick to respond and provide the required information.

Definitely a conversation starter!

I've been riding my LSM for over a month and been having a lot of fun while the weather is nice. I plan on commuting much of the year, so am definitely working on bundling up, but I've really been surprised at just how many people ask me about it, even rolling down their windows as they stop at a light or when I pull through a parking lot (or past a gas station!). "What is that?" "That looks great!" "Is that electric?" All things I've heard, sometimes multiple times a day. I wish I had those Beachman business cards to hand out for the rewards program!

This is really a great option if you're riding on city streets but not having to drive long distance each day. It rides smooth, has good pickup with the better hub motor over the e-bike, and handles well. If you live at the top (or bottom) of a hill, you'll notice it goes a little slower - especially with a passenger - but that's part of recognizing what this bike is for. It's for cruising around, looking great, and not having to stop at the gas station while you do!

Stay protected, ride safe, and keep both wheels down!

The '64 LSM: A Modern Echo of a Classic Era

The '64 LSM is a welcome return to a simpler, more engaging style of riding. Evoking the spirit of iconic British and Japanese motorcycles from the 1970s, it successfully captures the essence of a bygone era with a crucial modern twist. The LSM is a truly versatile machine, confidently handling the demands of urban commuting, navigating city congestion, and providing a spirited experience on winding backroads. What sets it apart from its classic predecessors, however, is its refined performance. The silent, smooth, and heat-free operation offers a pure riding experience, free from the mechanical inconveniences of its vintage inspiration.
