Letter From The Founder No. 32

Steve and Ben with the first bikes in the shipping crate

My Final Letter Of 2025

Beachman Is Expanding To Europe - And Raising Investor Capital To Do It

Hello there folks,

Ben here. Writing to you on the last day of the year from my home office, I find myself reflecting on the years past, and on where the company is going in the years to come.

The photo above was the first picture taken of Steve and I with our bikes, in the shipping crate where we stored and built the first 30 bikes, 5 years ago. We've come so far from that day, but still I know that Beachman is only a fraction of what it will one day become.

This summer we became Canada's second motorcycle manufacturer, and the first new motorcycle company here in over 80 years. It really shows how things have changed, and how few people are willing to do things the difficult way in an era defined by software, AI, and financial services as the only remaining areas of interest for entrepreneurs. We started this company because there was missing place in the world for a bike as beautiful, well built, and approachable as the '64, and we have been blown away by the reception it's had.

This fall, we sold our 1000th bike. It is a number I couldn't imagine when it was just Steve and I in that shipping crate. We've been to California and Milan, expanding our empire beyond the borders of our humble home town.

This month the new president of Beachman Europe, Matthieu, came onboard full time. We are now an intercontinental organization, and with the impending release of the Aviator, we are going to have a product that beats all of our competitors on price, specs, quality, and design aesthetic.

Now, we are raising money to fuel our expansion to Europe. This is a crucial moment the company history - expanding to a market with more than 100x higher sales of small-size motorcycles than Canada and 10x those of the USA, it is our #1 global center of opportunity. A region rich with culture that understands the value of our hand-built bikes and the quality of their aesthetic appeal, we will be right at home in France, Spain, Italy, Greece, and beyond.

3 years ago, we raised capital from a small group of entrepreneurs and angel investors who saw what Steve and I were doing and believed in it, and that money built our 8,000 sqft. headquarters in Toronto and helped us release 2 new models of bike.

So, I am returning to this same incredible community, because you are the people who understand us. You ride our bikes every day, and have taken those small adventures to the river, or picnicing with your loved ones on your own '64s, and understand exactly what it is that makes people fall in love with our bikes and our mission.

Below is a link to our investor teaser - the small version of our full investor deck which details the company to date and our plans in Europe and beyond. I encourage you to give it a read, share it with friends or investors you know, and if interested in investing, reach out to me directly at this email to get an NDA and a full size version of the deck.

Also, I wouldn't make it through the Christmas season without a gift for you all, so below you will find two new Beachman playlists, the newest Beachman and Beachman home additions in the series, with perfect tunes for hosting your NYE cocktail hour tonight.

Beachman - Volume 4

The newest installation of the core Beachman playlist series, this was my summer jam all year as I put it together for you.

Featuring bold, funky tunes from artists that are new to the series like Sonya Spence, Orange Juice, and George Benson, I made this playlist specifically for this pink swim platform in the album cover of choice. The image is an iconic Slim Aarons photo of La Concha Beach Club from the 1970's. I hope the music instantly transports you there.

Beachman Home - Volume 5

My second gift to you is this incredibly relaxing and classy collection of music continuing the Beachman Home series.

The image featured is the Reading Room by architect Bijoy Jain of Studio Mumbai, located in the forests of Nagaon, Maharashtra, India. The use of diffused light, incorporation of the forest itself and natural materials blend this place into the jungle, and I hope the music will do the same for you.

This playlist is best enjoyed late at night with a book and a cocktail of choice.
