Two Week Review

I love my Beachman 64'. It is a beautiful thing. It is a new found source of freedom.

I registered and insured my Beachman as a light motorcycle(70km/h limit) here in British Columbia meaning I can drive it on the road with a standard drivers license (motorcycle license not required). I am not allowed in either bike lanes or on the highways because they exceed the speed capability of my bike. I believe it to be the first registered with ICBC (provincial insurance).

If you need a cool way to get around town this is for you. It's got a decent speed and range. Strictly driving on flat and hilly rural roads between 30 - 70 km/h, with rider of 270lbs, the full charge made it over 70kms. Doing similar riding as a courier on urban streets (stop and go) got me about 5hrs worth of deliveries.

There are a number of things I wish were improved, and features added, but out of the box and for the price point this bike is definitely worth it. I do love my Beachman 64' and have recommended it to others.

I did not have a perfect customer experience. There were some aspects of the website that were confusing. For example, I never saw an image of the standard issue signal lights. I only saw images with the bullet style lights so assumed that they came standard and that I could order them with mesh cages as an option. I received stick lights. I assumed that the brown seat material would be the same brown as the saddlebag because that is what I saw. The size of the saddle bags is deceiving. I really wish there were size specs for them on the website. While they look great and add to the overall look of the bike, they are small and not entirely useful (wont hold my 13" laptop). Some of the hardwares(bolts) are too long for the span they secure which lends a hacked look to an otherwise beautiful thing. I also believed that I would be receiving the entire package with pedals, hub, chainrings, even though it can only be used as a light motorcycle in BC. This would at least allow me to re-sell as a class-2 e-bike. With that said the bike still came with the bottom bracket mounting points(and it just looks odd). The additional on bike outlet is of little use as it restricts charging to a trickle. It looks like Beachman is working on their product and the website has seen some changes since my order.

A nice surprise was receiving the fast charger in place of the old slow charger. At the time of writing the fast charger was removed as an option.

Beachman, I hope you elevate this bike a little. I would love to see you enter the light motorcycle / full motorcycle market in addition to the current model of class-2 e-bike/light motorcycle. Increasing top speed, adding a standard EV fast charger capability and larger battery capacity would be super.

Hey Raymond, thanks for such a detailed review! The entire team here has read it and taken your thoughts into consideration for the future. We are in the middle of taking new photos of all the bikes with the new turn signals which takes some time to do. You got one of the very first bikes with the new signals, which are DOT approved and have to look like that.

We will be adding dimensions to the saddlebag page thanks to your notes, and are also releasing a new saddlebag in October which will be able to fit a 16' laptop and will mount with custom hardware we built just for the bike that includes a quick-release mechanism.

The on-bike outlet doesn't reduce charging to a trickle, it has the same capacity as the direct line in the battery, I'd encourage you to try it out.

Some bolts may appear the wrong length, but are intentional, to accommodate the ability to add customizations later.

Awesome

Communication was great throughout, the bike performs well and is gorgeous, well built and comfortable. Went to tighten bolts and spokes axles etc after I put 160kms on her in a week and nothing needed tightening. Worthy of note: It was not a kind 160kms either lots of off road and trails with the limiter off. Motor gets hot off road but not unreasonably so. Some of the best money I've ever spent

Couldn't have asked for a better Ebike

Runs great, super smooth and quiet. Keeping the speed regulator on until my warranty is up but I'm looking forward to taking her(Sheila) up to speed!

I shouldn’t have waited

I started looking at these bikes last summer and finally bought one this past June. I don’t know why I waited. This is such a fun bike to ride and the quality is hard to overstate - it is a serious piece of hardware. The Beachman team looked after all the shipping arrangements and even checked-in a month after I bought it just to make sure things were alright - I mentioned that I had actually dropped the bike once by accident and had snapped the end off one of the break handles, and they were just like, no prob, we’ll mail out a replacement today, don’t worry about payment. So a great experience all around with this. And of course, the style speaks for itself.
